Southern Boone’s Blake Schmidt stayed unbeaten and Dominic Lawrence got a pair of impressive wins as the Eagles wrestling team won one-of-three matches at Blair Oaks last Tuesday.
The Eagles defeated Palmyra 68-12 and narrowly lost to Knob Noster 43-42. SoBoCo fell to Blair Oaks by a 54-27 score.
“We are continuing to see improvement from everyone,” said Eagles coach Trent Tracy. “We have some guys who are losing matches, but they are scoring points, trying new moves and showing a lot more confidence on the mat.
In the win over Palmyra, the Eagles got a 15-0 technical fall by Lawrence over Braden Erwin and pins by Isaac Smith, Blaine Sapp, Ty Varvil, and Bo Varvil. Tyler Lutz won a 12-11 decision in a wild match over Boyd Triplett.
