The Eagles boys basketball team looked like the best team in the state with their fast-paced offense and in-your-face defense.

The result? A 66-23 win over the Mustangs.

The Eagles went on an 18-1 run in the second quarter to break open the game and take a 38-13 lead at halftime.

Things only got worse for the visitors as the Mustangs had difficulty even getting a deccent shot as SoBoCo added a 19-7 frame in the third quarter.

Maguire Scheer had 18 points and six steals, Garrett Goodnight had 12 and Sam Stichnote scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds.

The SoBoCo girls, on the other hand, were upset by the Mustangs – a team they had just beaten in the conference tournament two weeks earlier.

The Eagles took a 24-22 lead into halftime, but fell behind 44-40 after the third period.

SoBoCo took the lead on a Brooke Trammell basket at 48-46 with 5:30 left in the game, but Eldon reeled off 20 points in the final 5:30, hitting a pair of key 3-pint shots and not missing from the free throw line.
