Connie Beth (Buchholz) Bauer

61, passed away June 2, 2022 at her home in Ashland, Missouri, surrounded by family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 408 S. Main Street in Ashland. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2201 West Rollins Rd., Columbia, Missouri. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at New Liberty Cemetery in Ashland.

She was born October 16, 1960 in Norfolk, Nebraska to William Lee Buchholz and Dorothy Ann (Koehler) Bauermeister. Connie was a 1979 graduate of Osmond High School in Osmond, Nebraska and also attended nursing school In Norfolk, Nebraska. While working in Nebraska, she met Bruce Bauer in January 1981. They were married in May of that same year.  From this union, four beloved children were born. Over the years, Connie worked as a geriatric nurse, a homemaker and later at Trinity Lutheran Daycare.  She and Bruce were part owners of Sentinel Hardware in Ashland and she enjoyed working there with her granddaughter, daughter and Bruce. In her free time, Connie enjoyed reading, crocheting, crafting, traveling with Bruce and most of all, spending time with her grandkids.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Bauer; her children, Michael (Kayla) Bauer, Adam (Michelle) Bauer, Trent (Christy) Bauer and Katie (Ryan) Bauer; as well as her mother, Dorothy Bauermeister; and siblings David (Pam) Buchholz, Julie (Tony) Sovereign, and Teresa (Kevin) Ullrich. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Kahler, Kaden, Eden, Easton, Eva, Elim and Karsyn Bauer; in addition to several nieces and nephews and extended family, friends, and neighbors. Connie is preceded in death by her father, William Buchholz; her stepdad, Robert Bauermeister; and a nephew, Tyler Buchholz. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care and assistance in Connie’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Ashland or Trinity Lutheran Child Learning Center in Columbia.
