The annual Chamber Days celebration was another sign of growth in Southern Boone County – business growth.
Six ribbon cuttings were held with new businesses and businesses with new ownership in Ashland.
Chamber Days was kicked off with the Leadership Breakfast at the Optimist Club. Columbia Regional Airport Director Mike Parks was the keynote speaker. Parks discussed the improvements being made at the airport as well as economic potential around the airport.
The chamber, YMCA, Callaway Bank and Mizzou Therapy sponsored a BBQ – right: YMCA director Kip Batye and Chamber president Jason Reynolds at the grill – with a large crowd on hand.
A chamber breakfast started the day on Friday with ribbon cuttings in the afternoon. The annual city-wide garage sale on Saturday.
“There is a lot of enthusiasm in the Chamber of Commerce,” said Reynolds. “We are seeing a growth in small, locally-owned businesses and are working to promote those businesses.”
