The SoBoCo Eagles baseball team scrimmaged a little last week and is getting ready for next Tuesday’s opener at home vs Centralia. Coach Tony Phillips says his depth in pitching will be an advantage for the Eagles. SoBoCo’s Alex Anderson, returning from an arm injury last season was on the mound with a strict pitch count during last week’s scrimmage and Phillips said he was pleased with the results. “It was just so good to see Alex on the field, playing a game he loves to play,” Phillips said. The Eagles also have a number of returning starters from last year, including Spencer Taggart, Gage Schupp, Sam Poole and Trevor Garriott. Phillips said he will likely use plenty of personnel early in the season – going with players who are hot at the plate. “We will have good pitching, but we will also have to score some runs,” Phillips added.
