The Southern Boone high school boys’ basketball team had a rough time last week dropping games to Blair Oaks and St. Elizabeth.
The Eagles were on the road at Blair Oaks January 26, losing a tight game 54-51. Seniors Blake Dapkus and Nik Post accounted for more than half the team’s scoring in the loss with 17 points and 12 points respectfully. The team’s field goal percentage was .500.
The Eagles hosted St. Elizabeth on Thursday evening, coming up short in another close game 59-54. Senior Trenton Roney topped the scoring with 18 points and senior Chase Schupp just behind him with 17 points.
The Southern Boone Classic basketball tournament began on Monday with the Eagles facing Warrenton in their first match. They will also face Boonville and Harrisonburg later in the week.
