Shirley Blythe

Of Ashland passed away on September 2, 2021, she was 77 years old. Shirley was born August 21,1944 in Laddonia Missouri, the daughter of Churchill and Merle Perrey, Shaw. She was a bouncer for Good Time Country. She started her career as a Ashland reserve officer, before going to work with Boone County Sheriffs Dept. as a jailer. After awhile she went to work as the first female Boone County road officer, advancing to the detective division. Before retiring she was the Supervisor for serving warrants in the information center. Shirley was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg, Hartsburg American Legion Ladies Auxilliary. She married Larry Arnsmeyer on January 23, 1965 and later was married to Fred Blythe on February 28th, 1981 and he survives at his home. Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends, playing her guitars, was a master seamstress. Funeral services will be held on September 7, 2021 at 10:00am Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland, with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hartsburg. Visitation will be held on September 6th , from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Shirley is survived by her children, Chuck ( Kim) Arnsmeyer of N. Branch Minnesota, Debra (Kevin) McKee of Hartsburg, Sabra (Jamie) Daly of Rocheport and Ambra (Rick) Richardson of Ashland; her brother, Edward (Nancy) Shaw of Jefferson City; her sisters, Betty Ridenhour of Eugene and Virginia (Ronnie) Bates of Brazito; grandchildren Ashlee (Adam) Adkins, Tyler (Amanda) Daly, Brittney Maue, Haleigh Arnsmeyer, Jacob (Taylor) Maue, Julia Richardson, Rusty (Kacey) Richardson, Wayne Blythe; great grandchildren, Ryan, Emma, Elye and Hayden She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Hagenhoff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hartsburg American Legion Ladies Auxillary or to Hospice Compassus in care of the family.
