Norma Faye “Shay” Forsee Loyd of Ashland, MO, age 94, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022. Norma was born on May 23, 1927, to Walter T. Forsee and Sarah Lelia Clark Forsee. She attended Oak Grove Elementary school; Ashland High School her Freshman and Sophomore years; and graduated in 1945 from Hickman High School in Columbia, MO. On April 29, 1949, she married William C. “Heinnie” Loyd. Norma worked for the University of Missouri Medical Center, in the blood bank. She retired in August 1992. While at the University Medical Center, she volunteered countless hours working with the Children’s Miracle Network. She served as a room mother, was an active member of the PTA, volunteered in several capacities at the Ashland Baptist Church, and was a project leader for Boone County 4-H program. She loved to read, work in her yard, do embroidery and other types of handwork. Norma is proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, a son, David, her parents, a brother, Raymond Forsee and a sister, Helen Hudson. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Loyd-Minear and her favorite son-in-law, Bobby Minear of Edina, MO; Charlene Loyd of Jefferson City, MO; two grandsons, Will Minear of Columbia, MO and Samuel Minear (Carrie) of Okinawa, Japan; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Jane and Henry Samuel of Okinawa, Japan. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Elkin of Columbia, MO Services will be held on January 10, 2022, at 11:00AM, at the Robinson Funeral Home, in Ashland, MO. Burial we be held at Memorial Cemetery in Columbia, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Randy Loyd, nephew, will be conducting the service. The pallbearers are Will Minear (grandson), Brendon Howdeshell, Joey McCauley, Brandon Schrage, Leslie Loyd (nephew), John Darren Forsee (great-nephew). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Southern Boone Library 109 N Main St, Ashland, MO 65010.
