Martha Lou Nichols, 81, passed away July 1, 2016 at Ashland Healthcare, she was born June 22, 1935 in Merriam, Kansas, the daughter of John and Zelma Case Buckner. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1953. On February 6, 1954, she married Kenneth Reed Nichols.

Martha Lou was a homemaker her entire life. She and Kenneth owned and operated Crane & Nichols Auto Service for many years before his retirement. Martha was a member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, a fifty year member of Ashland Chapter 309 Order of the Eastern Star, Wings Around Tiger Town camping club. She was the family genealogist; loved to quilt, knit, crochet, and go camping.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am July 6, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home with burial following in Woodcrest Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday July 5, 2016 at the Funeral Home 4:00 to 7:00 with an Order of Eastern Star Service at 7:00pm.

Martha Lou is survived by son Reed (Melody), daughters Karlene (Doug) Baylous and Renee Christopher all of Ashland. Grandchildren Krista, Lucus, Valerie and step grandchildren Keith and Jessica; one great granddaughter Abigail, six step great grandchildren, one sister Rosemary Lewis, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2006, her parents and brother, John Lee Buckner.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Woodcrest Cemetery or Goshen Primitive Baptist Church.
