Charles William Bland

Charles William Bland, age 90, formerly of Toledo and Cisne, Illinois, passed away July 3, 2016, in Ashland, Missouri. Charles was born March 28, 1926, in rural Cumberland County, Illinois, son of Dolph and Letha Neeley Bland. He married Betty Seeley on June 2, 1949, in Toledo, IL. He served in the US Marine Corp during WWII, was a retired rural mail carrier, and successful farmer. He was a member of the Toledo Christian Church.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 10:00 am at Ashland Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Ashland immediately after.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, two daughters Brenda (Roger) Page of Columbia, and Jane Armer of Ashland; two sisters Norma Frye and Lily Vermillion; three grandsons, James Waldrip, Jason (Rebecca) Shoot, and Nathan Armer; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Lleyton Shoot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dolph Jr. and David, and two sisters, Ruth Peters and Anita Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Toledo Christian Church, Ashland Baptist Church, or to Liberty Cemetery, in care of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland.
