John Lee Buckner of Ashland, passed away at his home on June 19, 2016, he was 88 years old.
John was born May 27, 1928 in South Park, Kansas, the son of John and Zelma Case Buckner. He married Betty Blythe on August 26, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri and she survives. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John worked for Smarr Construction for 22 years before he retired from Southern Boone County Schools as head custodian.
Funeral services will be held on June 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Robinson Funeral Home with burial following in Woodcrest Cemetery in Ashland. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on June 22, 2016.
Also surviving are one son, Mitchell (Cheri) Buckner; one daughter, Nancy Jean Buckner; two sisters, Martha Lou Nichols and Rose Mary (Raymond) Lewis, grandchildren, Lance, Mike, Devin, Jamie and Will and great-granddaughter, Alexis, all of Ashland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Woodcrest Cemetery in care of the family.
