Jennie Farris 1948 – 2020

Jennie L. Farris of Ashland, passed away at her home on November 13, 2020, she was 89 years old. Jennie was born May 7, 1931 in Unionville, Missouri the daughter of Burl and Dulcie Small, Munden. She married Walter Keith Farris November  6, 1948 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and he preceded her in death. She worked for State Farm Insurance in the claims office until her retirement. Jennie was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #309 in Ashland.  Jennie, Keith and his Uncle built Sentinel  in 1956.  She was a great seamstress and loved working with crafts. Her and Keith loved to travel all over the United States, Australia, Hawaii and Canada. They enjoyed tailgating for many years at the MU football games.

Funeral services will be held at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland on November 16,  2020   at  11:00am  with burial following in New Salem Cemetery, Visitation will be  one hour prior to service.

Survivors include, her sons,  Daniel ( Renee ) Farris of New Bloomfield and Melvin ( Barbara ) Farris of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Wanda  Hardin of Columbia, MO;  6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

 She was also preceded in death by three brothers James, Jean and Jay.
