Dorothy Jewell Calvin McBee, Metzinger

of Columbia passed away November 6th, 2021 at The Neighborhood Nursing Home in Columbia. She was 96 years old. Dorothy was born September 26, 1925 in Boone County, Missouri, the daughter of Clellie and Maggie Garrett Calvin. Dorothy worked as a Hairdresser. She was a member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, she was a founding member Goshen Church Lady’s Circle, Ashland Order of eastern Star #309 and the State Hairdresser Association. Dorothy married Leo L. McBee on July 20, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1969, she then married Ralph Metzinger in 1977, he preceded her in death. On January 9, 2015, she was married to Justin John and he preceded her in death Funeral Services will be held on November 13th, 2021 at 2:00pm at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland with burial following in Woodcrest Cemetery in Ashland. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00pm on Friday the 12th at the Funeral Home. Survivors include 2 step-children, Phil (Paula) Metzinger and Lisa (Joe) LaMonte her grandchildren, Michael ( Michelle ) McCubbin of Ashland, Christina Jensen of Ashland, 5 step- grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son, Donald, and daughter, Kay McCubbin, and 2 sisters. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions are suggested to Goshen Cemetery in care of the family.
