In Loving Memory Cheri (Cheryl) Lynn Batye September 29, 1953 – February 28, 2022 Cheri Batye, 68 years old, gained her angel wings on February 28th, 2022 after a tough battle with cancer. God was ready for her when she passed away in her Hartsburg home, surrounded by family. She was born on September 29th, 1953 in Fukuoka, Japan to William Joseph Parris and Julia Ann Parris. Together, they had three children, William David Parris, Cheryl Lynn Batye, and Michele Ann Begemann. Her mother later remarried and had one son, Gregory Warren Morton. Cheri married Leslie Sapp and they had one son, Casey Joe Sapp. She later married Randy Batye and they had one son, Kip Evan Batye. She is survived by her husband Randy Batye, her sons, Casey (Stephanie) Sapp and Kip (Jill) Batye, her sister Michelle Begemann, brother Gregory Morton, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Cheri loved her grandbabies, Ryan Casey Sapp, Hayley Nicole Sapp, Evan Ray Batye, and Jaxon John Batye. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Willam David Parris. Cheri had a zest for life, a vibrant soul, and the biggest heart. She enjoyed cooking, homemaking, gardening, jeep rides, and spending time on the porch where she would watch humming birds and listen to music. Most of all, she loved her family; she loved being a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She had a contagious smile that would brighten any room and she never met a stranger. Cheri believed that she was put on Earth to serve others; now she is serving Jesus in Heaven. We love you so much and will miss you every day. Cheri did not want others mourning her death, but rather celebrating her life and cherishing the memories. There will be a Celebration of Life on March 26th, 2022 at the Ashland Optimist Club from 1-4 pm. Drinks and light snacks will be provided but feel free to BYOB. The Celebration will be officiated by Pastor Jim Smith. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Southern Boone Area YMCA.
