Hartsburg Annexes Fire Station Into Village

On Wednesday, Jan. 3rd, the Village of Hartsburg Board of Trustees held its second reading and officially annexed the Southern Boone Fire Station at 21441 State Highway A into the Hartsburg village boundaries from the Southern Boone County Fire Protection District. The Fire District filed a petition for voluntary annexation, stating that the annexation would positively influence both parties. Hartsburg Board of Trustees says Hartsburg already manages the building and the annexation releases the County Fire District from having to maintain and upkeep the property, a desirable outcome for both parties.
