Gas Leak Fixed Quickly

Southern Boone Fire responded to a call for a gas leak this morning on Ash Street just after 8 a.m.

Construction workers digging on the south side of Ash Street near the intersection of Ash and Bass, for that neighborhood’s new sidewalk project caused the leak.

Some homes and about six central office workers at SoBoCo Middle School were evacuated for a short period while the leak was fixed by Ameren employees.

Workers quickly work on the project, which includes installing new water and drainage pipes along the south side of Ash, then the sidewalk will run from Henry Clay to Main Street.
