On Saturday, Oct. 14th, the Boone County History & Culture Center saw more than 1,000 visitors at their Oktoberfest Family Event. Visitors came out to celebrate local traditions that are heavily influenced by the German culture. Families explored how our toys, art and even the foods we eat have ties to this dynamic European Country all while learning about the first newspaper west of Mississippi River!

The event was come and go, designed for all ages, and included a variety of activities, such as
▪️ Create a rag doll with German inspired attire
▪️ Press patterns with Springerle cookie molds
▪️ Test your skills with wooden toys
