Want to see 1,000 cranes (birds)? Just travel on over to our local Southern Boone Regional Library, 109 N. Main St., where you will see them floating up above by the ceiling. In Japanese tradition, 1,000 cranes have symbolized hope and healing during challenging times. It has also symbolized good luck and granted wishes. Within a short amount of time, patrons of the library folded over the traditional mark, thereby bringing good fortune to our community.
