Lammers, Phillips with Defense, Hitting to Lead SoBoCo Softball
by Bruce Wallace
The Eagles continue to show in practice that they will be strong up the middle.
Catcher Bri Volle, pitcher Ashley Osborne, shortstop Kylee Lammers, second baseman Kate Ponder and centerfielder Courtney Phillips – the right mix for what coach Ashley Anderson might be looking for as the Eagles chase another Tri-County Conference crown.
SoBoCo lost the talent and leadership of Katie Price and Emma Kelly, however, those key positions up the middle now have players more experienced and another year older.
Add to that the athletic ability of Dani Post and the hitting of Izzy Smith – who missed last year with injuries – and the Eagles should be in contention for any tournament title.
The Eagles will have the opportunity to put their experience to the test early with the Hallsville Tournament.
