The No. 2-ranked Eagles girls basketball team rolled over Fatima last Thursday by a 72-46 score in a game that looked like an easy win – but left coach Tony Phillips looking for better defense.
“We allowed their big girls to score 13 points in the third quarter,” Phillips said, “so we need to get better in thta area.”
But that was about the only area where the Eagles were not succeeding. In going to 5-0 on the season, the Eagles raced to a 40-19 lead in the first half behind the scoring of Kylie Shoot, Meagan Barnett and Skyler Beeson.
“We played hard, but not very smart – we had 19 turnovers, so we need to fix that.”
