Macon Varsity Tigerettes scored six runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Southern Boone Varsity Eagles 11-0 in the Class 3, District 4 quarterfinals on Thursday, Oct. 17th.

A sacrifice fly put Macon on the board in the top of the second. The Tigerettes added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Payton Weimer singled down the left field line, Keely Hicks grounded into a fielder’s choice, and the Eagles committed an error, each scoring one run.

Macon scored six runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning. Hailey Platt took the loss for the Eagles. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, surrendering 11 runs (four earned) on 12 hits, striking out three and walking four.

Adisen Wren and Sydney Turner were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Southern Boone Varsity Eagles while hitting back-to-back. The team ended their season with a 22-11 record.
