Junior Drew Dial (3) received postseason recognition after a strong soccer season at Southern Boone. The team captain scored 5 goals and had 6 assists on the year.
Dial was named to the Class 2 all-state team (honorable mention), as well as being placed on the Class 2, Region 2 team (composed of District 3&4 players). Previously, he was also honored as a first-team all district performer.
Andrew Pridemore (22) received recognition for his work on and off the soccer pitch this season. The senior was named to the All Academic Team in the small school category, which is composed of 40 soccer players from classes 1 & 2 in Missouri.
These scholar-athletes excelled on the field, in their communities, and in the classroom during their high school careers. Nominees are first screened for soccer excellence based on information provided by their coach of their playing success and other contributions to the team.
Pridemore contributed 4 goals, 3 assists, and served as a team captain this season. Players that meet the criteria for soccer excellence are then evaluated academically using a combination of their GPA and ACT score. Players must also participate in more than two additional extra-curricular activities in order to be considered.
