The Southern Boone YMCA and Eagles Wrestling team’s first Ashland tournament was a big success. The tournament had 297 wrestlers registering for the tournament from 18 different teams.
“We had eight local 6U wrestlers compete with a total of 23 losses, 8 wins, 5 pins, and 1 gold medal by Weston Wilmoth and 1 silver medal won by Eli Rice,” said organizer Kip Batye.
The YMCA also had 13 8U wrestlers compete for a total of 37 losses, 21 wins, 12 pins, and 4 Silver medals: Walker Crane, Elliot Quinn, Owen Britton, Kaden Bauer; and 1 bronze medal won by JP Harding.
