Eight hits not enough for Southern Boone Varsity Eagles to overtake Sapulpa Chieftains. Southern Boone fell 4-2 to Sapulpa Chieftains on Saturday despite out-hitting them eight to six. In the first inning, Southern Boone got their offense started when Bob Andert singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Connor Burch earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Sapulpa Varsity. Burch lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out eight. Josh Hobbs threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
