Southern Boone Varsity Eagles took Tuesday, Sep. 24th’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 6-4 walk-off victory over Helias. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Abby Smith singled, scoring two runs. Gracie Britton drove in four runners in the win. The catcher went 2-2 on the day.

Helias were the first to get on the board in the third when Cambri Van Loo homered to center field, scoring two runs. A home run to center field by Britton gave Southern Boone Varsity Eagles the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the fifth.

Addy Wilson tripled, which helped Helias tie the game at four in the top of the seventh.

Hailey Platt earned the win for Southern Boone Varsity Eagles. The right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking two. Van Loo took the loss for Helias. The starter went six innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out seven and walking five. Casey Cramer appeared in relief for Southern Boone Varsity Eagles.

Adisen Wren and Britton were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Southern Boone Varsity Eagles while hitting back-to-back. Britton led Southern Boone Varsity Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.

Van Loo provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Helias with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Helias’s Hailey Gipe, the number eight hitter, led Helias with two hits in three at bats.
