Junior midfielder Alejandro Pagoada defends against the Battle Spartans last week

Last week the SBC soccer squad welcomed back starting center back Zach Hawkins from injury, but lost three seniors temporarily to suspension following an off-field issue. The loss of those seniors loomed large as the Eagles faced the biggest school on their schedule last Monday, the Class 4 Battle Spartans of Columbia (3-1). The contest began with the Spartans dominating the opening minutes, but then SBC settled into a possession-oriented game and generated some of their best scoring opportunities of the season.
