The Eagles were scheduled to open their soccer season last Friday with a home match against Kirksville. However, uncertainty about whether or not the new SBC turf field and soccer goals would be ready on time led to the match being postponed. It will now take place in Ashland on Saturday, Sept. 30, with the JV squads starting play at 11:00am and the Varsity teams to follow.

That schedule change meant the Eagles had to wait until Tuesday evening, Aug. 29 to open the season against the Osage Indians. Osage’s soccer program has strengthened in recent years, and last season they held SBC scoreless in a lopsided 3-0 victory. The results of this week’s contest were not available by press time. Tomorrow, Aug. 31, the Eagles have another home match as they host the Boonville Pirates at 5pm. Historically, SBC has dominated Boonville with a total of 16 wins and only one loss – which came in the 2016 state playoffs.
