Class 3 state track & field meet

On Saturday, ten Southern Boone athletes competed in the Class 3 state track & field meet in Jefferson City. The girls claimed the 3rd place team trophy behind strong performances from their middle-distance and long-distance running specialists. Alexandra Volkart and Evan Mauney finished 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the 3200m. In the 1600m, Mauney was 3rd and Volkart was 6th. Mauney also added a 6th place finish in the 800m. Chloe Bukowsky and Elizabeth Hess joined Mauney and Volkart in the 4X800m relay, which also finished 6th.
