SEVEN LOCAL JUNIORS AMONG FINALISTS: Seven Southern Boone County R-1 juniors are among 10 finalists in the Boone Electric Cooperative essay contest. The contest was open to all high school juniors in Boone County. All finalists will receive a $50 savings bond. The finalists from So. Bo. Co. R-1 are: Mark Tanner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gorden Tanner of Hartsburg, Steve Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Turner of Ashland, Jeff Selby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Selby of Ashland, Karla Goetting, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Goetting of Ashland, Donna Loy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Loy of Hartsburg, Anita Kiessling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kiessling of Hartsburg, and Debbie Hartman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hartman of Hartsburg.
