Wednesday Feb. 14th- Valentine’s Day: When you get lucky enough to find that one, true love, treat every day as Valentine’s Day. But on this day, be sure and check out our local stores for something special!

Thursday Feb. 15th- World Hippo Day: Pablo Escobar may have been a vile drug lord, but he did love his hippos. He imported four hippos to Colombia in the early 1980’s. They were set loose and there are now over 200 hippos wreaking havoc along the Magdalena River habitat.

Friday Feb. 16th- National Do a Grouch a Favor Day: We all know a “grouch” that could use some love. So do a favor for one, and if they don’t appreciate it, enjoy the satisfaction of killing them with kindness!

Saturday Feb. 17th- National Public Science Day: Have fun with a weird, easy, science project – Google can help you figure out one. For instance, does hot water freeze faster than lukewarm water? Yes! But not faster than cold water. Weird, huh?!

Sunday Feb. 18th- National Pluto Day: Pluto was a planet, then it was not, and has now been re-classified as a dwarf planet. The mnemonic goes: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas! Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and yes, PLUTO!

Monday Feb. 19th- National Tug-of-War Day: It’s a shame this game was only part of the Olympics from 1900 to 1920. If you have a child, dog, cat, etc., enjoy a bit of this game on this day!

Tuesday Feb. 20th- National No Politics Day: Just one day without being inundated with political ads, social media diatribes, and fake news would be wonderful! If so, enjoy it as the election year is gearing up, and AI robocalls are already an issue!
