William Glen (Bill) Newell

William Glen (Bill) Newell, 82, of Brevard, NC, passed peacefully on November 30, 2022. He was born on September 9th, 1940 to Roy Lee and Amber Carter Newell in Lucerne, MO.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judith McDow Newell, two sons, Leroy (Glenda) of Brevard, NC and Clint (Heidi) of Rockford, IL, two daughters, Julie Newell (Kevin) of Gladstone, MO and Wanda (Tom) Pendleton of Lathrop, MO. Nine grandchildren, two step-grandchilden and seven great-grandchildren.  His brother, Airforce Major retired Donald (Dee) Newell of Las Vegas, NV, his sister Grace (Roger) Lupton of Des Moines, IA, three nephews and one niece, two aunts, June Klinginsmith of Unionville, MO and Arabelle Carter of Kirksville, MO and many extended family and friends.

  He graduated high school in Unionville, MO and attended University of MO. He was employed by Sutherland Lumber Company, Kansas City, MO for over 35 years all over the Midwest.

  He loved farming, hunting, fishing and coaching ball teams.

  Visitation will be at 1pm at Robinson’s Funeral Home in Ashland, MO, on Saturday, December 10th, 2022. Services to follow at 2pm, with burial at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery after.
