Those that had the honor of knowing Val also knew pure joy. She exuded heart-warming love without effort. Any space she occupied became vibrant: full of color, infectious laughter, and undeniable comfort.
Val was not only a cultivator of flowers but of family. She adored her daughters and found her place in life as a Grandmother. Val stood upon an unshakable foundation: devoted faith to her Savior mortared with a sibling bond that rivaled all.
It would be remiss to say, “there will not be a void with Val no longer on our Earth”; however, with such a great abundance of lives enriched just by knowing her, there is enough of Val’s joy with us, we will enjoy it for lifetimes to come.
Valerie Baker brightened this world on September 27, 1947 and crossed peacefully through the gates of Heaven on July 23, 2022. With her parents proceeding in death, Val’s wonderful memory is left in the care of her devoted daughters (Heidi (Gary Robinson) Baker and MJ (Addie) Williams), her built-in best friends and sisters (Marie McGee and Joyce Evans), a loving brother and bonus sister (Gary and Cheryl Rice), her close friend (James Sapp) and the absolute light of her life: her granddaughter (Brinlee Williams). It is the family’s honor to continue Val’s mission to paint the world a brighter shade and it is their hope that Val’s dear friends will do the same.
Her family, respectfully, has decided have a small private moment to honor Val with future plans for a Celebration of Life. As much as Val loved her floral arrangements, the family requests that any thoughtful gifts or donations be directed towards an education fund benefiting her only grandchild, set up in Val’s honor with Callaway Bank.
