Walter Thomas Garrett III, “Buck”, was born to Walter Thomas Garrett, “Junior” and Glenda Clatterbuck Garrett on June 27, 1962, in Boone County, Missouri. Buck passed away June 20, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia at the age of 61.

He graduated from Southern Boone County High School in Ashland, MO in 1980.

As a youth he loved basketball, rode horses in 4-H fun shows, enjoyed hunting, fox hunting and fast cars. He liked trail riding, riding the backroads of Boone County and using GPS (Garrett Positioning System), playing cards and reminiscing about the good old days with family and friends. Numerous horses saw him through his cowboy years including Queenie, Trigger, Pete, Kado, Bear and Tommy Boy. Faithful furry friends Tootie, Milo, Elvis, Tater, Libby and Gus were part of his family.

He was a member of the National Pipe Fitters Union. Creating metal artwork and pipe-fitted light sculptures were a testament to his sprinkler fitter days.
