Johnny (Pete) Melvin Sr. 68 of Ashland Mo passed away December 28th 2024. Pete loved all things hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was the kind of man that was a jack of all trades and only a master of plumbing. He was a kind giving man, and would help anyone that needed it.
He was born April 9th, 1956 in Columbia Mo to James and Ruth (Gilpin) Melvin of Columbia, MO. He was a 1974 graduate of Hickman High school. He married the love of his life Deborah Parman on August 17th, 1975.
He is survived by three children Johnny (April) Melvin Jr. of Ashland, Mary (Kerby) Mitchell of Columbia and Claire (Ray) Linzie of Ashland, four grandchildren Caleb Mitchell, Nate Melvin, Abby Melvin, Diana Linzie. Two brothers James(Betty) Melvin, Billy (Roxann) Melvin both of Columbia, one sister Alta (Gary) Bennett of Hallsville, and a whole bunch of nieces and nephews that he loved so much! He was proceeded in death by both of his parents and his beloved wife Deborah, who met him at the gates of Heaven.
Services will be Saturday, January 4th. Doors open at 1pm with the service starting at 3pm at Ashland Christian Church (14775 State Hwy DD, Ashland MO, 65010) with a dinner to follow at the American Legion Post 152 (123 E Broadway, Ashland MO 65010).
