Jane Ann Copeland, age 68, of Freeburg, was born November 5, 1955, at Jefferson City, Missouri, a daughter of Charles L. and Nancy A. (Isenberg) Verhoff, and passed from this life on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.
She was married May 11, 1985, at First Baptist Church, Vienna, to Mr. Lawrence W. Copeland.
Jane’s pride and joy was her granddaughter, Sadie, who she loved spending time with, especially in the kitchen and playing Barbies. She also enjoyed going to the river and spending time with her family at their cabin on the Gasconade River, going on girls’ trips with her sisters, baking, and watching tv. She had many close friends who refer to her as a ray of sunshine.
During her working life, Jane was an LPN for Memorial Hospital, Columbia Regional, and Urology Care Inc., for 30 plus years; a pharmacy technician at Whaley’s Pharmacy, Jefferson City, for 10 years; and prior to fully retiring she cleaned houses because she liked to stay busy.
Those left to mourn the passing of Jane include: her husband, Lawrence of the home in Freeburg; her son, James “Jimi” Phillips and wife, Jodie of Freeburg; one granddaughter, Sadie; one brother, David Conrad Verhoff of Niantic, Connecticut; one sister, Judith Cathrine Nichols and husband, Jack of Ashland; two sisters-in-law, Kay Verhoff of Mesa, Arizona and Faye Verhoff of Kansas City, Missouri; several nephews and nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
