Obituary: Elizabeth (Betty) Martin

Elizabeth (Betty) Martin, born October 5, 1939, in Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully the morning of November 5, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by her family at the age of 85.

Betty was a friend to all and never met a stranger. She leaves behind two sons Doug Martin and Dan (Megan) Martin; two granddaughters Taylor and Brianna Martin, who were the light of her life and a brother Don Soetaert (Liz) of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean and husband Jesse.
Betty retired from Deaconess Hospital after twenty years of serving as the Director of Medical Records. She was beloved by friends and family for her friendly, funny and generous demeanor.

A visitation for Betty will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Absolute Economical Funeral Chapel in Oklahoma City, OK.

Local services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Robinson-Yager Funeral Home in Ashland, MO beginning with a visitation concluding with a prayer service from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at noon at New Salem Cemetery in Ashland where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Jesse.
