Maudie Genevieve O’Neal 1933-2016

Genevieve O’Neal, 83, of Hartsburg passed away, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Columbia. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W Columbia. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Genevieve was born, January 9, 1933 in Boone County, Missouri to Julius Bradford and Sarah Ann Richardson Crane. She was a graduate of Hickman High School. On June 4, 1949 she married Harold Lloyd O’Neal in Boone County. She often volunteered at the Food Pantry; and she was an excellent homemaker and wife, mother, and grandmother; she especially loved her great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Branson with her husband, but she was famous for her homemade apple dumplings. She had been a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Hartsburg, and later in her life, was always working on puzzles and reading a good book.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Cross of Columbia; brother, Luther Crane of Columbia; grandchildren, Jeremiah Cross of Columbia, Jennifer (David) Hasegawa of St. Louis, Jason (Sarah) Thomas of Hartsburg, and Stephanie Cross of Lee’s Summitt; great grandchildren, Hannah & Henry Hasegawa, Owen & Blake Thomas, and Devon & Jette Cross; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; daughter Shirley Thomas; brothers, Bradford Crane & James Crane; sons-in-law, Bill Cross & John Thomas; and her parents.
