Marjorie Calvin Bennefield passed away on June 20, 2016 at home in her sleep.
Marjorie was born July 11, 1928, the daughter of Clellie and Maggie Calvin, who lived in rural Hartsburg. She grew up in the Ashland/Columbia area, went to Hickman High School, and was a graduate of Christian College. She married Billy Stewart and lost him to cancer in 1968. She remarried to William Bennefield, who also passed away from cancer in 1986. Her passion turned to alternative medicine and she was co-owner of an herbal store for over 20 years, working until she was 86 helping people.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy John; two daughters, Cindy Nevins of Seattle, Wash. and Theresa Wheeler of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her parents and older sister, Mildred preceded her in death.
She will be extremely missed by her family and friends. A service will be held to honor her life at Goshen Primitive Baptist Church on July 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. with a pot luck meal to follow at the church. Please join us. The family will bury her ashes at Woodcrest Cemetery afterwards.
