Clifford Sell

Clifford Peifly Sell, age 90, of Ashland passed away December 16, 2016 at Ashland Healthcare.

Clifford was born March 23, 1926 in Schnecksville, Pa., the son of Frank John and Lillie May Peifly Sell. He married Gertrude Ella Schneck on June 18, 1949 in Neffs, Pa. He retired from Sell Equipment Co. in Florissant as a self-employed mechanical engineer. Clifford served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg and V.F.W. in Schnecksville, Pa.

Clifford was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, in Lutheran Churches and he loved talking politics.

Memorial services will be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.

Survivors include, his wife, Gertrude Sell of Ashland; one son, Randal Clifford (Nancy) Sell of Hartsburg; two daughters, Elaine Miriam (Robert) Orton of Florissant and Carol Anne (Mark) Murphy of Columbia City, Ind; one brother Hubert Peifly (Grace) Sell of Schnecksville, Pa, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Alan Charles Sell, who passed away while serving in the U.S. Navy in 1973; two brothers, Larry Frank Sell and Roger Peifly Sell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to the Salvation Army in care of the family.

Memorial services are under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home.
