Chuck Boelkes, age 65, of Bonnots Mill, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his residence.

Chuck was born on April 6, 1952, in Fulton, Missouri to Walter and Carrie Lou (Maddox) Boelkes. He was a 1970 graduate of Southern Boone County R1 High School in Ashland. Chuck was united in marriage on June 20, 1970, in Columbia to Marsha Gibson, who survives in their home.

Chuck was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hartsburg, the National Trappers Association, Fur Traders of America and the NRA. He was a self-employed contractor, commercial fisherman and fur buyer. He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and trapping. Chuck loved spending time with family and friends, and always had a story to tell.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Carrie, of Hartsburg; his wife of 46 years, Marsha; daughter, Sherry Wimberley and husband Bruce of Bonnots Mill; one son, Charles W. Boelkes, Jr., Bonnots Mill; six grandchildren, Katherine Lehman, Austin Boelkes, Angie Ablondi, Justin Kobusch, Sheryl Boelkes, and Amos Boelkes; one great granddaughter, Hailey Holtmeyer; sister, Mary Ann Reeter and husband David of Jefferson City, niece Melissa Draffen and husband Chris of Bunceton, and great niece Emma Draffen.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Walter, along with his cherished grandparents, Wayne and Grace Maddox of Bonnots Mill.

On June 2, 2017, services were held in Linn, Missouri at the Morton Chapel, followed by interment in the Useful Cemetery in Useful, Missouri.
