Betty Smith 1939-2019

Betty Lou Smith of Ashland, passed away on November 8, 2019 at her home, she was 80 years old. Betty was born January 23, 1939 in Columbia, the daughter of Wilson and Edith Sims, Carlos. She married Ronnie Smith on September 17, 1982 in Columbia and he survives. Betty was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church. She retired from Lowes where she worked as a cash clerk. 

Funeral services were held on November 11, 2019 at Nashville Baptist Church. Burial followed in Nashville Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband Ronnie of Ashland; two sons, Dwayne Lee (Tracy) Southerland of Harrisburg and Darry (Ana) Smith of St. Clara, CA; two daughters, Janet (Dennis) Sapp of Columbia and Shelly (Walt) Cunningham of Paola, Kansas; two brothers, Leroy (Janice) Carlos of Harrisburg and Ernest Carlos of Columbia; one sister, Lena (Earl) Wessing of Pilot Grove; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Patrick.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to Nashville Cemetery in care of the family.
