Officials from the University of Missouri and Moberly Area Community College (MACC) signed a memorandum of understanding today that will ensure students can transition between the two schools seamlessly.

Called MIZZOUMACC, the initiative is administered through MU’s Community College Pathways Program. As part of the agreement, as many as 30 MACC students will be admitted into MU during the next academic year. Student progress will be closely tracked and the program could be expanded based on the success of the cohort of students.

“This program is an excellent example of how the University of Missouri is working with our community college partners to ensure that Missouri citizenhave access to high-quality, affordable higher education,” said Hank Foley, MU interim chancellor. “It is my hope that MIZZOUMACC sets the blueprint for similar relationships throughout the Midwest, providing students with access to one of the nation’s premier research universities while keeping costs affordable.”
