HARTSBURG, Mo. — The Village of Hartsburg is taking proactive steps to upgrade its sewer system to meet state environmental regulations that take effect in 2028, while also working to minimize the financial burden on residents.
Mayor Tim Hentz outlined the town’s efforts, explaining that the existing system will not meet updated ammonia discharge standards mandated by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
