After the SoBoCo Eagles repeated their Tri-County Conference Tournament sweep on Saturday night, both the boys and girls basketball teams piled together for media and parents and enjoyed their victories.

But by the time the buses left the Hallsville High School parking lot, it was likely that coaches Tony Phillips and Andy Jahnsen were already thinking about this week’s challenge.

Both Eagles teams play in this week’s California Tournament and will face tough competition. The Eagles boys play tonight against Fatima – a team they beat earlier in the season, but the Comets can shoot the lights out and will be a test for the Eagles defense.

The Eagles girls play Fatima as well on Monday afternoon.

On Wednesday the Eagles boys face Fulton in the late game and the girls will face the Battle Spartans.

The round-robin tournament will play its championship games on Saturday.

Both the Eagles boys and girls remain unbeaten after last week’s Tri-County Conference Tournament.

The Eagles girls demolished the Osage Indians 56-25 in a game that was over in the third quarter.

The Eagles boys went right down to the wire, with SoBoCo prevailing 68-67 over the Blair Oaks Falcons behind Sam Stichnote’s 26 points.
