Watts qualifies for state meet

Southern Boone golfer fired a 76, good enough for second place at the Class 3 Section 3 Golf Tournament on Monday at Meadow Lake Golf Course.

The score qualifies Watts to be the lone golfer at next Monday-Tuesday’s state golf tournament in Sedalia.

“He just did everything better than last week at the district meet,” said Eagles golf coach Dave Gill. “The weather was such a factor in that meet – and today he had an outstanding day.”

Watts has led the Eagles throughout the season and Gill said his hard work has his golf game coming together.

Helias won the Sectional Tournament.
