When your leading golfer for the past three years has been sick then hurts his back on the second hole of Monday’s Sectional Golf Tournament, what does a coach do?

He simply turns to another senior.

Eagles senior golfer Jakob Warren stepped up in a huge way on Monday, shooting a 78 and lifted his team to a berth in next Monday and Tuesday’s State Golf Tournament in Sedalia.

The Eagles placed second as a team – with only four scores as they did not qualify as a team from the district golf tournament.

Eagles coach Andy Jahnsen said Warren was “amazing” as he carded a 78, his lowest round of the year.

“He really came through,” Jahnsen said. “Jakob is a very hard worker and wants to be great at this sport. He was not happy with (district’s) results and it opened his eyes.”

But Warren was not the only amazing Eagles golfer.
