SoBoCo Eagles runners Cassey Poole and Isaac Smith competed at the state cross country meet on Saturday in Jefferson City.
SoBoCo’s Cassey Poole finished 79th at 21:43 and Isaac Smith was 129th in 18:44.
Coach Crystal Branch said her runners were in good shape, but were facing tough competition.
“Both kids gave everything they had at state,” Branch said. “The course is a beast and once it gets in your head it’s hard to shake. There is no other event like the state championships. The huge number of the fastest athletes in the state can be overwhelming.”
