The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites first-time dove hunters to learn dove hunting basics at a FREE clinic and hunt on opening weekend of the 2019 dove season.

The event, for adults and youth ages 8 – 15, will begin at Prairie Fork Conservation Area with a dove clinic on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. – noon.

Participants will learn the basics of dove biology and management, regulations, safety, ethics, and get hands-on wingshooting experience. Participants who attend the clinic on Saturday will then enjoy a dove hunt on opening morning of dove season, Sunday, Sept. 1. Participants must attend the clinic in order to join the Sunday hunt.
