To say that SoBoCo Eagles Activities Director Pat Lacy is a little excited about having new Eagles baseball coach Brian Ash is on board is to like saying that the Eagles athletic facilities have grown in the past couple of years.
Ash won two state titles as the coach at Blair Oaks and a third at Jefferson City High School – where he was also named National High School Coach of the Year.
Ash is a coach Lacy went after several years ago, however, Ash was happy where he was. What changed?
It might have helped that Ash, like so many arriving at Southern Boone schools, is building a house in the area. It also doesn’t hurt that his wife, April Smith Ash is one of the all-time great Southern Boone basketball players, who was recently selected for the Eagles inaugural Hall of Fame.
