The SoBoCo Eagles won two games easily last week, but more than momentum, coach Tony Phillips is looking to get his team rested and healthy before next week’s district tournament.

The Eagles won at Hallsville on Friday by a 52-31 score, breaking open a close first quarter game by going on a 19-8 second quarter run.

Senior Izzy Smith can score underneath for the Eagles when she comes off the bench.

Skyler Beeson led the Eagles with 14 points, Carrie Ponder had 9 points. Nine different players scored for SoBoCo in the game.

“We played some very good defense and we did what we needed to do to win that game,” said Phillips.

Now, with only a Friday game with Warsaw, the Eagles have a chance to rest.

“We don’t look for momentum as much as we just need to rest and get healed,” Phillips added. “Emma (Anderson) was out last week (flu) and Meagan is still getting used to being back after her injury.”
